WHAT TO EXPECT

Athletes can participate with or without access to a gym, depending on the competition they select:

  • EQUIPMENT: HYROX Men/Women
  • BODYWEIGHT: HYROX Men/Women

Depending on this selection, the athlete will continue the competition in the affiliated ranking. The top 4 athletes from the EQUIPMENT competition will qualify for the live Grand Final on July 26, 2020 where we can all watch the HYROX Men | HYROX Women battle it out to see who will be crowned the HYROX Virtual Champion of Fitness!

HOW DOES THE POINT SCORING WORK

Points are awarded for each workout and are based on the athlete's performance. Best placed athletes will earn the most points, second best will earn second most points etc. The Virtual Champion of Fitness in each Age Group is the athlete with most points after the 5 workouts!

WHICH COMPETITION IS FOR ME?

EQUIPMENT

This competition will include bodyweight movements as well as movements with weights, rowing, and running. In true HYROX-fashion the weighted exercises will be based on human movement patterns. Workouts will last approximately 15-30 Minutes depending on the athletes level of fitness. The equipment competition is suitable for intermediate to elite fitness level.

What you’ll need: 

  • Ability to film your workout
  • 2x Dumbbells
  • 1x Wall Ball
  • 1x Rower 
  • Running Track (400m)* or treadmill

*This must be a standardized track and field running track. Running will not be combined with rowing, however running workouts will include dumbbells and/or wall ball.

Weights:

  • HYROX MEN 2x Dumbbells 15 kg (35 lbs) / 1x Wall Ball 9 kg (20 lbs) 
  • HYROX WOMEN: 2x Dumbbells 10 kg (20lbs) / 1x Wall Ball 6 kg (14 lbs)


BODYWEIGHT

This competition will include only BODYWEIGHT movements. Workouts will last approximately 15-30 Minutes depending on the athletes level of fitness. The BODYWEIGHT competition is suitable for all levels of fitness and equals the HYROX OPEN Category at the events.

  • Ability to film your workout
  • A mat or any kind of equal space to film your workout.
