HYROX CHICAGO - NEW WORLD RECORD IN THE HYROX PRO MEN DIVISION I OVER 700 PARTICIPANTS AT THE DEBUT
The first ever HYROX Chicago is in the books. Over 700 HYROX athletes and more than 2,500 spectators descended upon the iconic Navy Pier to be a part of the World Series of Fitness.
After a full day of fitness including workouts at Strong GYM at HYROX, everyone was talking about one name, Hunter McIntyre. In just his second HYROX competition, Hunter set a new World Record of 57:34 in the Pro Men Division and took home the $5,000 cash prize.
The 30-year-old Californian smashed the competition to break the World Record (58:39) previously set by Lukas Storath in Stuttgart, Germany in Season01. When asked about his race, McIntyre, a true competitor, said, “I started too fast on the sleds and that bothers me a little because it cost me some time.“ Even though McIntyre now owns the fastest ever HYROX finisher time and broke Storath’s world record, Storath is still the reigning World Champion. On April, 4 2020 these two heavyweights of fitness will go head-to-head at the Season02 HYROX World Championships in Berlin, Germany. This is where the best of the best from each Season02 city will come together to test themselves against the rest of the world. Storath and McIntyre will also be going up against top athletes such as Ryan Kent and Alexander Nicholas who finished in second and third place at HYROX Chicago. Berlin guarantees to be an epic race.
The next chance to see these athletes live and compete in HYROX yourself will be on February 22 when McIntyre will try to break his own World Record in Dallas, Texas at the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center.
